Daytona C exchanged for Kermit who would do?
I got an offer to exchange my 2018 mint Daytona 500C black dial for a 2004 Kermit Flat 4 mint full set. I am interested in the original Kermit as well as the new Kermit and this is a Flat 4 piece but is it a good deal? Would appreciate your opinions.

I think you're absolutely nuts to do that trade IMO. Excuse my brevity but unless an older Kermit is your 100% dream watch you can't live without, the Daytona is the obvious keeper.

I like the 5 digit LV over a DaytonaC, but still think you'd be bonkers to even consider that trade..

Daytona C exchanged for Kermit who would do?
Depending upon the condition of each, you may be in the same zipcode regarding price. Maybe some cash to you if the Kermit is lower condition or needing a full overhaul.
As far as functionality, the Kermit is easier to read - the Daytona more complicated. On appeal, well...that’s a subjective item only you can answer. Me? I’d do it since the Kermit is a classic and will only grow in meaningfulness over the years. The Daytona-C is just a sliver of ceramic pressed onto a bezel - not especially meaningful - and a Disco Danny demand grabber. Ok - flamers will flame Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I don't even like the 116500LN and I wouldn't do that trade.

Flat 4... is a hype! A green 5 digit sub without a flat 4 is still a kermit! I think u should keep that 500c black dial and buy a non flat-4 kermit. You will feel exactly the same as owning a flat 4 but your wallet won't be emptied out.

I am biased as I love the look of the Daytona SS and have never liked the look of the black and green. You are also giving up a better movement, bracelet, etc. 100% no.

Thank you everyone for the responses. Look like an overwhelming NO. Actually I just thought simply value wise they are not much different. I got my Daytona at list price and its current market price is more or less similar to that of a Kermit flat 4. Condition wise both are also similar.

If you paid MSRP on the Daytona I would, they are relatively same in value except one is discontinued and one is not....

I'd do it. If you want a Kermit, why not? A Daytona is a Daytona. You strip the prestige away from it and it isn't a super interesting watch, especially in SS.
I'd do the trade.

The Kermit is now 16 years old and regardless of what the seller tells you, you have no idea what’s happened to it in those 16 years.
Your Daytona is yours from day 1 - you know exactly where it’s been etc. That fact alone would prevent me from doing that trade. By all means add an LV if you really want one but not at the expense of losing your Daytona. Also, what would your chances be of getting another Daytona at list from your AD? Probably zero, LV’s are still readily available although prices for minty full set flat 4’s are getting silly now I must admit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would just look for a Non flat 4 model, D/Z/V/M series etc that way you don’t have to sacrifice your C Daytona if & when funds permit.
