Just means you have to clean it more often as the soap imparts more scum under the clasp and in the links than the water washes away. Just my experience, so I take mine off before I shower now. YMMV :)

I have a 1967 date with a most recent Rolex overhaul of 2010 that makes regular dips in the tub and splashes in the shower. These bad boys are literally designed to lay next to actual oysters and run perpetually.

I personally don’t. I dive with mine so I treat it like I would all my other gear. I would never expose my camera rig, dive computer or anything with a rubber gasket to hot water or steam. I’d be afraid of swelling and cracking. Probably overkill, but not worth the risk for me.

Isn’t it a dive watch, not a shower watch ?

Okay but it doesn't need your shampoo, body wash, face wash and everything else with water! Also more than watch getting scratched, there's a chance you'll scratch yourself with your watch while moving your hands over your body!

I wore my GMT2C continuously for 8 years, probably taken off once every 3 months for quick clean.

Went through sea, showers, sleeps, kart racing, climbing, deserts, snow, water sports, saunas, steam rooms and much more. Went for RSC service and ready for another 8-10 years of fun. And that's not even a Sub!

I don’t like to shower wearing a watch, not because I’m afraid to get it wet, I just prefer to wash myself and the watch separately... call me crazy

In the shower?

What do you use for soap?!

All my watches get the occasional go in the shower, with the bracelets loosened off if possible. Sometimes they need it. Sometimes they don't. It never hurts.
