I’ll admit, I was hesitant at first because of the price point of an oysterflex model on a rubber strap being more expensive than what I could get a white gold on bracelet for but after having one come in and wearing it a couple days, I am addicted and it’s now a permanent part of the collection!!!

In USD, I figure the delta is actuallly $9650, looking at the Rolex website.

Not a big fan of rubbers.

Was offered an Aquanaut 3 years ago on a rubber strap, but passed. IMO a sports watch even a PM version, should at least come with a bracelet and a secondary strap as an option like offered on the Omega Professional Moon-watch.

But that being said the WG Daytona on OF looks pretty slick.

I had never owned a Daytona. Many Rolex, but not their chrono. It’s the only Daytona I ever wanted, and I bought one. Well worth it.

Yes, it seems steep for no PM bracelet. I have others with PM bracelets. This piece is perfect without it. If one wanted the full bracelet, one could purchase the Daytona with the WG bezel and PM bracelet.

That’s what’s fun about this hobby - something for everyone.

The new hype watch !

I have owned almost all the “hot” Rolex models including both the white/black ceramic Daytonas, BLRO, Hulk, BLNR, DD40, Bluesy and the SD43. From experience and IMHO, the WG Daytona is by far the best looking of them all. I am a serial flipper but this one is a keeper.

I would like one, but am waiting for a bracelet iteration.

Ha, me too! I strongly disliked this ref when first released a few years ago. I gradually fell in love with it after seeing in person a few times and now own one! One of my fav watches. The sunburst silver dial is just stunning. The watch actually looks better in person.

I love it.
I don’t consider it a hype watch, whatever that really means.

It’s a statement a person that can’t afford it uses.

I think it’s the best looking Daytona dial in their entire lineup. I wish they made it in SS also. However WG? I’d rather just get the RG or YG. In fact I’m on a list for a YG black dial.

This is one of the most gorgeous Rolex timepiece.

I wish this watch comes with both PM bracelet and OF.

Yes!! This dial on steel and a bracelet would have me interested.

I've always thought Daytona's were hard to read and lack of a date and an adjustable clasp doesn't help either.

Rubber is just a different way to wear a sports watch and has zero to do with dress watchs.

I like that the subdials are a solid color with the contrasting markers. Makes it look much sharper than the SS versions. Love the look of it with a rubber strap but seems too steep for me.

Interesting how polarizing the OF bracelette is. It was the main selling point for my YM42 and I couldnt be happier

I have my seamaster in a rubber strap, and I love it. It’s the watch I wear the most... I can’t wait to get my WG OF Daytona which is “ordered”.

I don't think it's popularity is new, it was pretty universally loved from the get-go.
