It's the first modern daytona that I liked right when it came out.

Probably hyped now because people are over paying rolex sports steel.

The hype is justified. My favorite modern Rolex of any model. That pretty dial with the contrasting black ceramic bezel, along with the weight and luster of white gold ... just insanely beautiful.

I love the rubber (synonymous with auto racing, appropriately), but I also wear it on a thick black gator strap to mix it up. So, for you guys who passed solely because of the Oysterflex, there are options.

Hype to who? It’s a 30k+ watch, realistically who is buying this? I have a hard time believing there is any hype for this. Beautiful, amazing watch BTW. But no hype, don’t believe the SA’s or greys, they will tell you anything to sell you on. The hype is SS sports models, plain and simple.

Worth watching ....

This chap makes a comment that historically all Rolex watches on anything but steel or gold bracelets (ie, leather or rubber) lost their value from the original Price. Is this true?

Same for me. If they were on par with the TT versions in regards to price I'd snap one up instantly.

You might be right but I’m buying it as I love it.

My London AD said the wait will be around 6 months. Yours?

Love it
I think it is 1mm bigger than the SS version which is a big deal if you have a larger wrist.

I had the opportunity to buy this last year BUT I wasn’t financially ready at that point, I was is the middle of building our home so the timing was off. I wish I could come across another one.

Nice watch, but everything is hype now. I personally would not even want to pay retail but that's just me.

The new hype watch !

This watch deserves the hype unlike other models which I feel have become desirable on TRF because of perceived scarcity rather than the intrinsic qualities of the watches themselves. Meteorite Pepsi and SS Blue SkyDweller comes to mind (in my humble opinion of course).

+1.

It wears small on OF, need a bracelet to atleast increase the wearability. It's such a small watch and then on OF!
