Aquanaut 5167, amazing timekeeping
Four days after receiving from Takuya (ThahnDo is great) and cutting the rubber strap (very easy) it hasn’t gained or lost a second. I wasn’t expecting that. Very pleased. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It is by far the most accurate mechanical watch I've owned. Was also surprised.

Super cool congrats.
I had this a few years ago, only could not handle the varying patina between the lume on the hands and the hour markers. I think they have changed that these days.....

Congrats OP, super cool watch!

The 5167 has switched from greenish lume to now white in around late 2018, just like it is on the 5164. |

Thanks for the nice comments. I had an Aquanaut (first version I imagine) that is somewhere on the bottom of Lake Malawi after getting torn off my wrist by the rigging on a sailboat (I'm surely not a skilled sailor). Luckily leaving my hand intact - thank you rubber strap.

It may take a while to find and doubt the seals held that long (!), but we were off Senga Bay, Malawi about 10KM from shore. I would not claim any salvage rights in any case !!

Great watch. I have a 5711 but believe this will get more wrist time. If you get one and size the strap, cut just a bit off at a time since there is no going back and center the clasp by cutting more off one side as needed. Frank |
