Nautilus for an elegant and dressy sports watch. ROO for pure sports.

15202 for me although I am biased being a current owner. Love the bracelet, the petite-tappiserie blue dial and the vintage JLC-based movement. Lack of second hand does not bother me.

On the other hand, the 5711 sings to many people but for some reason never to me. I find it very boring with that garage-door style dial. If Nautilus, I will go for the 5712A or 5980 in all gold.

AP. More interesting dial, better bracelet & clasp, and even the man who designed both of them preferred the AP.

I've owned both at the same time. The AP got much more wrist time. But it's all a matter of taste.

The 5711 will retain better value than the 15202 as the latter is easier to get from a Boutique.

You will wait many months for the AP while it will be many years for the PP.

Life is too short, go for the AP.

That was my choice, I am expecting my 202 around December 18.

Is quite an investment so go with the 1 you like and match your style, not what we like.

I just let go a 15202 today, to get a 5177.

The 15202 is awesome, but there is something special about the 5711.

Could someone add the availability, price difference, depreciation if first owner (if any) and value retained please?

Both are hard to get, more so the 5711 IMO.

Prices for both are out of whack, much more so for the 5711. Price difference is huge in the aftermarket, more than US$20k for the 5711.

The 5711 is almost twice as expensive on the aftermarket, it is certainly not twice the watch as both are super nice, but it is much more exclusive. You may not see many 15202s around, but you do see plenty of Royal Oaks.

I made money on my 15202, but I don't see watches as investments, given the price I paid for the 5711 I may end up losing money, if so, so be it.

Still the same! As the OP original question was 5711 SS vs 15202 SS, still prefer 15202 over 5711A.

But 5711-1R is another story.

So your garage door is brown instead of blue!

The first time you have to advance the date on the 15202 more than five days you'll want to sell it.

I agree. Just a personal opinion but the Nautilis really does nothing for me, hard to believe they are both there same designer. It screams Brooks Brothers to me and as mentioned, that’s just not me. I have friends that have them solely becuase they all know they are hard to get, which seems to be most I know. All personal preference of course.
