I absolutely love Orvieto; it is so beautiful and peaceful. But if I had to pick, my number one would have to be Venice. My trip to Italy is, by far, my favorite vacation. After 10 months in Iraq I took two weeks leave there before returning for two more months. My then girlfriend, soon after arrival fiancé, and now wife of 13 years met me there. It was truly the vacation of a lifetime. What a wonderful country.

First vote for Tokyo but I guess I'm biased for living there 11 years. Kampai, TRF :-)

My wife are thinking of taking the kids (13 and11) there for a vacation next March. Would you say it’s a kid friendly place?

When it’s just my wife and I our favorite place yo travel is Italy by far. The food, the culture, the scenery and varying topography is tough to beat in one country IMO.

Our cottage is the our second favorite place with the kids.

Having been around the world for decades in most continents, islands, and oceans, my favorite place is the Alamo Plaza. It's not as spectacular as Rome, Cairo, or Asian destinations, but I guess it's because I'm a Texan and the location calls to me in a different way. I typically make the pilgrimage there a few times every year.

I love many of the small towns throughout Spain. Granada being my personal favorite. It's an hour drive to skiing, hour drive to the souther coast. Wonderful food and wine culture. Big enough to have what you need and small enough to actually get to know it.

Very good to know Paul

We are looking for somewhere unique to take the kids and we were thinking Hawaii but wanted something less commercialized.

We’re going to take a closer look at this option

Hope I'm not too late to reply (I've just joined.) I've been to Seychelles a couple of times with my three kids (14, 9, 5) and never faced any problem in hotels, restaurants, travel or any other tourism aspect. The locals are quite friendly, especially with kids. What exactly are you looking into being "kid-friendly"?

Florida!

Several reasons, it has it all... Great food, awesome shopping, lot's to do, beaches, sun, not too hot etc... And it puts us within a few hours reach of all of the Caribbean.

Favorite place to travel

I love the OBX (Outer Banks N.C.) and it’s my fav destination. Probably always will be. However I’m doing some traveling in the near future, I have decided it’s time I get out more so that might change but as of now it’s the OBX
