Ball watch GMT

Hello all. I took a look at Ball’s Engineer hydrocarbon aerogmt. Hodinkee has a favorable review of it but of course I value the opinion of the Rolex Forum WIS’. Any input is appreciated.

Love mine. It's the first version with the higher HR rating. The 24 hour lume is great on red eye flights.

Bought mine on the bracelet but found it uncomfortable. Too many sharp edges digging into my wrist. A Bonetto Cinturini 284 rubber NATO solved that, is a perfect match, and a comfortable combo.

I have had two Ball’s in the past - wait...that sounds weird - well, neither were the model you asked about.

Mine were flawless in performance and the legibility of the lume is legendary. But for a couple of reasons I’d wear one again - your opinion may vary - here’s my 2¢...

Two considerations:
Once the lume dims some 13 years from now, you’ll have an expensive dial replacement to fund.

And when you do need an overhaul or parts, there’s just one source. They won’t sell parts to watchmakers. When that happens you’re locked into Ball alone, and the price is the price.
