Got my first Seiko

As many of you know my wife and I go back and forth between Ontario and Orlando very frequently. My wife participates on TRF has some very nice watches and has become very knowledgeable about the Seiko brand. So she was up for a week or so and returned with a watch for me. She found and brought back a PADi special edition SPB07J1. The blue on the dial is amazing. The bezel nice and lines up perfectly. The crown is very easy to use. The quality is amazing. The lume is wonderful. I'm looking forward to checking the accuracy. The big thing is I have an amazing wife!

Very nice! I recently bought the exact same watch. The dial is what drew me in. My watch came with the rubber strap which was nice but I replaced it with an Uncle Seiko retro waffle strap. The new strap is really comfortable and gives the watch a retro look and is reasonably priced. Enjoy!

Since the change was made a few years ago on how to post pics I find it very difficult. We tried but just can't figure it out. Pls Brian feel free to post the pics I texted you on this thread!

Looks great! I like the blue/black dial like a DSSD and the wave pattern on the dial reminds me of my Omega GMT.

The lume on Seiko is just the best!!

Nice PADI. I picked one up myself a couple weeks ago at my Rolex dealer. It has a red/blue bezel insert much like my GMT. I'll have to post some photos up.

I think you are right about that Dan. I even like the case back! I took it swimming last night and it was if the dial and lume came alive.

I had the all-black version of this, the SPB051, loved it, but eventually sold it to fund my MarineMaster 300. I might pick up this PADI version in the future, as it wears extremely well. My ONLY complaint is the hands... Disproportionate to my eyes, and I can never get past the reverse-meatball second hand on Seikos, I have to swap them out. It's what has kept me away from the Grand Seiko spring drive divers, honestly...

But I love that dial on the PADI...

I agree about the seconds hand. That's my one complaint.

I'm liking this watch more and more, can't take it off. It's running + 6 seconds a day and that is much better than the Seiko specs. I feel this watch is well worth the price. This is a very good beach and pool watch no doubt about it.
