New Member question about DateJust model
Hi! I am a new member and inherited a DateJust with no papers or info. I tried to clean off the dirt with a soft cloth but the sides look like rose gold under the silver. I read that these are not plated so could it be that someone didn't like the rose and tried to have it plated after buying? It looks like just the sides have the rose color showing. Can this be refurbished? Thank you for any help you can offer.

Unfortunately, it isn't even a good fake.
Trash it. |

Is this a troll?
The bezel is terrible, the end links are a mess, the sides of the center links aren't even plated, and the list goes on and on. |

Unfortunately, your watch is not an authentic Rolex. The pinkish color that you see isn't rose gold, it's the base metal from which the chrome or other plating has chipped off. The watch itself has no monetary value; it's only value is whatever sentimental value it has to you related to whomever left it to you.
Don't spend $1 on trying to refurbish it as there is no refurbishment to be done. If the watch is meaningful to you, put it in a drawer and look at it occasionally. |
