Anyone buy a 7234 over a 5524?

I have a 7in wrist and tried on a 7234G. Didn’t fit too bad but I have yet to see a 5524 in person. Anyone pick the smaller version? Gray prices are a lot more reasonable for the 7234.

Feel the strap on the smaller reference is just too petite for my liking, even though dial size is acceptable

5524 for sure unless you buy 2nd hand, which the smaller watch is at a much bigger discount

My wrist is just a hair under 7” and the 5524 wears surprisingly well. Might be my favorite piece.

I always thought I would prefer the 7234 over the 5524 due to my small wrist size, under 7". But after trying both, I actually prefer the 5524.

Op, you should see if you can try that on, happy hunting :)

I don't have a big wrist but still preferred the 5524. And in keeping to the heritage of pilot watches, it has to be on the bigger size. A small pilot watch seems oxymoron to me. But it could be just me... :P

I opted for the 7234g over the 5524 after trying on both. I have a very flat 6.5” wrist and wear dress cuffs often, and hate the dinnerplate case sizing so common today. 7234 is elegantly proportioned.

Strap sizing on the 7234 reminds me of the 124270 bracelet taper — perfect. But if it’s “too petite” (which it’s not) for you, then change the 18/14 strap to an 18/16, buy a 16mm Calatrava buckle with the money you saved over the 5524, and voila — it works. I have both configurations and swap based on long-sleeve / short sleeve days.

There are some really good threads on 7234 in this forum via Search…enjoy!

Your old account 'mdl25' was locked, as it was hacked, and used for the phishing of further members accounts on the forum.
You would have received notice of such.

You are only allowed one account, and need to clear your original account to continue. You should reach out to the sites owner 'Lol-x', with all your original details when the account was set up, in order for it to be re-instated.
Simply opening a new account is not accepted.
This current account will be closed within 24 hours, so I suggest you move quickly, and also familiarize yourself on the basic scams thieves are using to hack personal accounts. There are threads here, and the watch out section, detailing what to look out for.

5524 on a 6.5 in wrist.. I wouldn't go any larger lug to lug . This fits me great with not much room to spare. Love it.
