It is a nice looking watch but I don't think that this brand is held in the same regard as some of the other brands out there. If you are looking for a lower cost watch then I suggest checking out Seiko... and if you can step it up a bit more then some Omegas may appeal. Good luck in your hunt.

This is a brand that the cruise liners are peaching to buy everytime you go to the Caribbean or Mexico. They claimed that the founder was a former pilot and he designs these watches. They also said that a lot of these models are limited editions and they are sought after. I tried a couple on when I was in Cabo. They are well made and feel very solid but for the really nice ones and their price range, I would agree with Max to go with omega instead :)

Nicely designed larger sized watches but overpriced ETA movements at the end of the day

My dad has an Ernst Benz and loves it. I was recently able to speak with an EB factory rep at a local watch event, and it's true the found was a pilot (and engineer). That's how they came about making a 47mm watch with a yellow face and black markings...visibility. It's a tool watch so ETA movement are fine IMHO. Cheap to maintain, and easy to find parts for. I've heard from several people (outside of the factory rep) that their customer service is very good.

IMO, they're a bit like everything else and are overwrought. I'd rather have a Sinn or something else.

If I remember correctly, they're owned by the owner of Universal Watch in Birmingham, MI (wealthy suburb of Detroit).

My last cruise in October seemed like a sales meeting for the brand. Not impressive to me. For their money I would go with Omega or just continue to save and wait on something more memorable.
