Strange decision for VC to change all DT's strap to red going forward (not talking about the Cory Richard above). My AD told me a few weeks ago that this will happen. Its nice as an extra to order, but I'd prefer blue/black as default

Man seems like only VIP’s can purchase a orange strap from the boutique. Anyone have an extra I can purchase? Apparently each boutique got a couple in…. Crazy and I’ve never heard of a company restricting straps.

I think I'm slow, but what do you mean by DT?

Love the Everest DT on Orange but not as much on red. Feels like it clashes a little with the dial.

Agree not a fan of the red, whereas the Everest should really come standard with the orange, its really really good!

I think the red will work well with the black & white dial DT's, to match the red hands.

I've put my interest forward at my local boutique

That red strap is fire @raclaims! If you get a chance to take it with the blue dial - please post, I'm seriously thinking about it :)

Called my boutique to ask for the red or white for my Overseas DT. Got told they are very limited and 6+ month wait on the white and no chance of scoring the red. Pretty absurd. Drop 30k on a stainless watch and get put on a waitlist for the straps lol what a fvcking joke.
Anyone have a hookup on a red or white?

It is absolutely ridiculous we just can’t call a boutique and get any strap that’s made for our watch. I’ve never heard of such a thing and if anyone wants to sell their orange one pm me. I’ll buy it

Couldn’t agree more. I’m a newbie to VC and I’m already a little turned off. Love the watch but give me a break. It’s sad how all of these companies will lose the upcoming generation of enthusiasts because of their snobbish desire to play rolex-style games. Once the watch market tanks again and their showcases fill back up with pieces you can get gray for 30% off, it’ll be interesting to see if they change their tune. Hell, they may even throw in some fun straps for free!

I don’t think they are concerned. They will not be losing anyone. There are peaks and troughs in business and in luxury trends and they’ve seen it and lived through it all. You are new to the brand and already turned off. You may not be a long term client for them anyway.

It’s widely accepted that if everything was available and always available and always at retail, the allure just wouldn’t be there to the same extent. This factor is one of the appeals of VC, PP, Rolex and AP.

I have had VC watches for over a year and I only got an orange strap a few days ago. I wasn’t even sure that I would get one.

For those that want instant gratification there is the grey market, and then there is brietling, omega, longines et al. It’s just how it is and it doesn’t work for everyone. But these brands aren’t catering to everyone anyway, and that is how they want it.

And as for the younger generation of enthusiasts being turned off by snobbish ways, well I’ve got teenagers and I employ people in their 20s. I can tell you with 100% certainty that exclusivity and snobbishness etc is exactly from the playbook of that generation. Exclusive drops as they term it speaks to them. They lap that stuff up. It feeds into their own flex culture. I don’t think watch brands have deliberately tapped into this, but I’m sure they are aware and are not scared of it.

Have a great day.

330$ rubber bands being allocation only is pathetic. That is all.

Just skip the boutique. Order from Vagenari. The are identical and of extremely high quality. I have both OEM and Vagenari. Indistinguishable from each other. Skip the line and don’t play the VC games.

So it’s all pretty plug-in-play? I just have to connect my buckle?

I thought that these weren’t compatible with the quick release system. If they are, I’ll order up right now! Thanks for the link..

They are, but you need to detach one of the pin attachments from your existing straps to use them.

I was checking out trying to figure out how to take off the buckle. Any ideas?

Just unscrew one part of it, then start pulling both ends apart. The one attached to leather is a little hard to get out as the strap is pretty rigid.

I’ll have to go back and look at it when I get home, but I didn’t see any screws to unscrew.
