5711 actually selling at listed prices?
i can only assume that resellers are listing pre-owned (and we're talking 5yrs+ old units!) SS models at inflated prices of 65-70k cuz there are real buyers taking them on a regular basis.
any members personally know anyone who has at those price levels...or brave (or baller!) enough to admit doing so her/himself? cuz holy crap, I'd let mine go at a blink if someone came knocking with that much cash in hand! |

Problem with People is they take things serious. I can’t pay $65-70k for a 5711. Knowing it cost 30k...I’d feel like someone took advantage of me...every time I look down at my wrist I’d get angry. So much so I’d sell it at a loss and buy a rolex. |

These prices are actually similar to others- I see: 5990 over $100k 5980R on strap over $100k 5726 steel listed over $100k 5712 over 70k I would say the 5711 is a relative bargain lol |

A friend got a blue 5711 in 2018 for whatever the going market price was and sold it a few months later to fund something else. Rode the wave and made a few grand. At that same time, we were asking the same question, who is buying these??? Only time will tell.

I must be in the frugal minority over here. I got both my 5167a and 5711 from my AD at msrp. I would never pay over msrp I rather spend that premium on a vacation or invest it in the market. I am hoping I can get a 5712 or 5212 this year from my AD.

I got my blue 5711 from PP salon in Geneva in January.
I bought my white 5711 used (2015 watch) at way above MSRP in April. A friendly AD said he will get me a new one during the course of the year, at which point I intend selling the used one. I’m hoping that prices don’t crash before I make the switch (I may even make a small profit on the used watch). Life is short....I didn’t want to wait.

I’d be willing to go on a list, knowing that was the timeframe...the issue is goung on a ‘list’ with no potential timeframe |

have been over a year. but still uncertain if A) there legitimately is a list and/or B) if they're actually keeping track of it. my hunch is neither. everytime i ask for an update on my position on the list or ETA on another piece coming in, all i get is a shoulder shrug, rather than defined info. quite frustrating. |

i hear AD's know what there are being allocated and roughly when some watches are being delivered so a shoulder shrug might mean your not a valued customer |

They are more of “interest lists” instead of “waiting lists.” The latter implies some form of uniform standard for how it is ordered, and whose name bumps others (like upgrades for frequent fliers). This is just a collection of names that they’ll call if the guy they called before declines.

I'm cheap too! Bought my 5712 in 2017 from an AD for MSRP. Had to wait 2 months!

I bought a 5167R at msrp less 15% and every time I looked at my wrist I said “30K for this”. So it’s all relative.

My ADs all talk about wish list to make it clear there is not more just waiting to get the watch. Just the buyer expressing a wish!
