While accuracy is very important--I doubt running 4 or 6 seconds fast or slow will make on late or too early to appointments-nor will it throw our day off. Enjoy your watches for their looks and style and don't get too caught up in a few seconds here and there!!

Thanks guys. I know a few seconds here or there is not a major deal. I wanted to test the timing to check if indeed the watch had 1. been 'serviced' as described by the seller, and 2. that it was done within spec

I'll keep monitoring it. It seems to be gaining 2-3 more seconds by each day. How long is it recommended to test it for, 5 or 15 days or?

half way through the 5th day (today) my 1601 stopping ticking after only about 9 hours after I set it down. hmmm.. not good on first impressions. how long on average per day does one have to wear their OP's on their wrists to keep them 'going'?

Well, I would say that would be a problem if you had wound the crown 40 times prior to first putting on the watch. If not, then the mainspring probably wasn't sufficiently wound in the first place.

You do realize that only the hours change across time zones don't you?

You can wear it 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc hours a day but if you don't move your arm it won't matter will it.

You mean except for the half hour differences where a lot of worlds (more intelligent) population lives.

Adelaide for example.

I don't know if you guys ever remember calling up the time and getting the recorded announcement.

Now you can get it on the internet without having to make a call.

You can use this to select your county and city.

This is my home town, but you can select your own country and city.
