1675/3 & 16753 Printed vs. Applied Crown

I have an interest in a '79/'80 16573 (TT, black nipple dial), and need some clarification please.

) When was the transition to printed to applied crown, or visa versa ?

) When was the actual transition to 16753 from 1675/3 ?

Hello, the 16753 was introduced around 1979 with the 16750. Earliest serials are probably in the low 6 million range. It contains the 3075 high beat movement with the quickset dare feature. All of these should have the imprinted crown. The 1675/3 was made until the switch to the newer movement and had the applied golden crown until toward the end of production in the late 70s.

Not sure of when the introduction of the printed crown came on the model but there are nipple on the 16753 model with the applied crown, brown and black....

I think I have one of these 16753 nipple dials with applied crown; but have never had it opened or examined for validation. 1979 with 624xxxx serial.

I have never seen a quick-set two-tone GMT (16753) with applied coronet. To my knowledge, ALL 16753 have a printed coronet, whether with the earlier nipple-type markers or later disc-type marker. ALL 1675/3 two-tone dials have the applied gold coronet, whether brown, copper or black.

Here is a 5.7m serial, which should make it a 1675 ('78-'79 ?), with a nipple dial and applied crown. I'm not looking for perfection, but a parts correct wearable example. It is here on TRF, and I DO NOT want to dis the seller .....opinions ?

Being green to the vintage side, I really value the comments
