Icon4 Roger there is one important thing missing in your Rolex FAQ

... Can a person safely wear a Rolex in the hot tub?

I have been doing it for years without a problem
A hot tub is around 104 F ( might be tiny bit higher depending on cycle)
The temp range for a Rolex exceeds this. This is a Hot day In Las Vegas.

Hot tubs are okay.

I was told if you can stand the heat, your watch can too.

However be careful about going from the hot tub straigt into a cold pool, the rapid tempurature change is not supposed to be good for the seals.

gold is also the best conductor of heat.

say again?

i know it's been a while since i was in HS chemlab... but if the gold is a good conductor of heat (it is) then .... doesn't that make the conclusion that the gold case would transfer the heat through the movement?

Call me skeptical, not the the durability of the watch , but the time to build one.
ONE YEAR??
Think about it, they say they produce around 800,000 watches/year
That is 2,192 watches every day ( 365 no holidays)
Where are all those people?? They are hand assembled.
Just doesn't compute with me. It is possible an advertising play, that from initial inception to the dealer, the 14 months have elapsed.

I don't quite get it, Padi. If you say that "gold is also the best conductor of heat" then how can the inside of the watch remain cool while the outside temperature has reached boiling point?
