Which world timer ?? 5131/1P or 5131G

Hello,

I have a problem, which world timer would you buy?
both are new and have near the same price.
(G i can get from a friend and P from my AD)
Which one would you buy and why?

P no question... and from an AD makes it no decision at all, the choice is obvious to me

5131p is the sought after one and obvious choice. Platinum feel is something unique , but even though all that is true ,; this kind of watches are meant to be worn on a strap.
Also AD purchase is my prefer choice ,m.

Dissenting view.

I only wear watches on bracelets so this one answers itself. I agree that platinum has a special feel, but I got that out of my system with my platinum day date 40. White gold is hardly suffering. And Patak uses a gray gold, not a rhodium plated white gold. However, the enamel on the platinum one is absolutely gorgeous.

I think the G is the better looking of the two. If only it were platinum. Sigh...

The G

I understand the appeal of Patek platinum. But I just like the enamel of the G -- the colors are more vibrant and just more interesting to me.

Really tough one this! I was fortunate to get the R (though would have taken one in any metal!) and have dreamt about owning another variant and I have to admit it's the G that I always seem to turn too. PP allocation on a watch like this is equally appealing though. Let us know what you decide though I don't you'll need any encouragement to show either one off!

Out of these two, the G for me as I don´t like the look of the metal bracelet on this reference.

exactly!

To me the appeal of these enameled dials is the 'warmth' of them. The R only highlights this aspect.

Whilst the P might be the collectors / choice, it leaves me completely cold. Plus i really dislike the look of it on a bracelet.

R would be the one for me, failing that the J or G. In this particular order. For the price of a P i would look at a completely different watch.

In deciding between the P from AD with your name on the Certificate and the G pre-owned at market prices, the answer is definitely the P from an AD.

Has here someone the 5131G and the 5131/1P ?
I am afraid that the P is too much shiny, so that the bracelet steals the dial the show.

Between the 2, the G for me but that assuming paying AD prices for both. If near same price I would jump on the P.

R was in production for only 3 years (same as P assuming it stops this year), the J for 7+ years and G for 7 years.
Each year of R production had a different city ring.
