Are you enjoying your watch????

I hear much talk about "accuracy", "value", nit picking this and that about a watch (I know because I've done it myself...LOL)

In the end I just hope that people are getting enjoyment and pleasure from their timepieces.....

I recently bought my first Rolex because I wanted a good watch. I love it and am enjoying it immensely.

The nit picking in these forum is a surprise - one that I consider an unexpected bonus.

To witness how much people care about their watches just makes me enjoy my Rolex even more.

How's this for enjoying my watch?

I often carry a pocket loupe just to get a better look at some small details of the watch I am wearing if the mood strikes me during the day. Not nit-picking, just enjoying the "macro" view.

Here's a variation of your question: How often do you find yourself looking at your watch just for the pleasure, not for the time of day?

Hello Clayton!
Interesting question indeed!

I´d like to tell you that I really enjoy so much wearing my watches, specially vintage ones.
I don´t care too much if a vintage watch gains or looses a few seconds a day (though I´m very serious in this aspect with a brand new one!), but enjoy so much just wearing it and taking a look from time to time during the day, and not necesarily to tell the time, but to enjoy its shapes, color and general design.

I even enjoy hearing its tick toc, just bringing the watch close to my ear, but do not try to listen to it very often, afraid someone will see me doing this several times, and will think something is not good inside my head!

It feels so wonderful to note that such an small mechanical marvel, made several decades ago, keeps working and doing its intended job today, not to mention the appreciation of a timeless design, like that of an old Rolex or Omega, or other less reknown brands for that matter.

I´m presently enjoying an old Bubbleback, as well as a 1950´s Omega Chrono, and a Longines single button chrono made in 1913.
All these marvels work "like a swiss watch" and make a pleasant and enjoyable wearing.

I enjoy wearing these watches as well as my other modern Rolex, of course.

Thank you for bringing this matter to this thread!
Best cordial regards, Abel.

Quality wtches just make me happy!!! I overslept this morning and went to work without a watch on my wrist (this NEVER happens to me as I usually decide on the watch before I decide on anything). I couldn't wait to get home and remedy that screw-up.

All my watches bring me pleasure whenever I'm wearing one of them. Besides Rolex watches I own other brands and they are all a pleasure to wear. I look at my watch several times a day just to admire it and am always glad I have it on.

If we didn't enjoy them I doubt any of us would buy them. They are a great monument of pride and enjoyment that is only a wrist away. :)

Definitely love mine. And about to add a vintage, which will be even more fun to look at. Stay tuned for pics in the next few days!
