Not a huge fan of either brands styling. Obviously can dispute the mechanical prowess of each company. Patek just bores me. I like the Overseas the best out of any of the models produced between the two brands...so I guess VC wins by default on looks.

I like both PP and VC. However, I voted PP cause their dial is tidier, their case is always well balanced and the finishing even for their base model is breathtaking.
My preference:-
Complicated or dress watch: PP>VC/AP
Sports watch: AP/PP>VC

I voted VC ...

because there aren't any PP that appeal to me. Just something about the aesthetic doesn't agree with me. But my VC OS Chrono has been with me longer than any other.

Edit:, Just found one from VC in second picture, a true beauty too though think PP still does it for me because of their highly collectible status! Not sure which is more complicated amongst the two, not just considering number of complications(12 v/s 16) but the technical complexity of the functions.

You should check out VC's Tour de L'lle. With 16 complications I would say they got the know-how

Thanks Daniel/HRV, looking at those VC links, think was wrong abot them on the tech front, they sure do have a very remarkable grasp on complications.

VC is my favorite brand. The history, the logo, the watches. I have 2 of them and they are both keepers. Here is one of them:

I'm torn on this question to be honest.

My 'if I could only have one watch ever' watch would be a 5124G PP.

However, overall I highly prefer VC's overall.

The only models PP has that appeal to me at the time are the 5124G and 5208P

However, the more I see the photos and wrist shots of Aquanauts pop up on here the more it grows on me.

But from VC?
The Royal Eagle chronographs
Malte regulateur
1921
Overseas dual time or chrono
Many of the Quai de l'Ile's
The bi-retrograde day/date

I really really love VC.

I am about to make myself very unpopular

I voted for PP. I see them as very special and in many ways separate and above all others.
As for VC and AP. I think they lost their way some time ago and for me are not even any longer above a fairly long list of other makers
.
I don't want to turn this tread into one of those , lets rank the watch houses, thing.
So I am not going to start a list.
But if I did. Lange G O and JLC, would be at the top of the major players, a little below PP, of course.

All IMO of course and with respect to anyone who differs.

Arguing about watches is what we do around here right? So no need to apologize for an opinion Here is another opinion

I think that Vacheron Constantin has an exceptional line-up at the moment and if this is thanks to the Richmont group, I'm all for their ownership. I think their current collection is fairly diversified and clear-cut. JLC is all over the place with their watches, I really like some of them, others not so much. ALS have amazing watches, but their style/reach is a bit rigid compared to VC. However everything boils down to emotions, doesn't it? What you feel for different brands, and in my case I am really only interested in VC (and ALS...and some JLC's) as far as high end watches go. Something about the general design and especially lugs that VC does very well IMO. To each their own. There are enough watches and brands for us all to choose from
