IWC or Panerai

The reason I'm posting this on a Rolex forum is because I want to get some unbiased opinion. I currently own a Rolex milgauss and I'm looking to purchase a watch from another brand. I've narrowed it down to panerai and IWC, particularly the Pam 111 and IWC 3777-01. I'm not familiar with either brand so wanna get some feedback as for as their reliability, fit and finish and after sale service. Which watch is a better buy overall?

Panerai hands down for me.
Also holds better value if you want to sell it later.

Tough choice, it really comes down to you. IWC are more varied in style (Pilot, Ingeneur, Portuguese etc) whereas Panerai are design classics.

IWC would edge it for me, but that is because I have one (371701) and love it. Panerai is on my list.

I'd go with the IWC - that particular model is a great looking piece. You won't see too many of those in Hong Kong unlike the PAM.

The IWC is nice...

But for th money, Panerai is much more satisfying.

I own 3 IWC Watches and 3 Panerai.
I am still adding Panerai to my collection and I tend to wear them
quite a bit more than anything else I own actually.

Really is a personal choice but the ability to quickly change
the look with band changes is a big bonus is my book!

IWC, I have purchased two IWCs for my husband and they keep time (does not loose or gain seconds daily) way better than my two Rolexes. My husband loves his IWCs and I can't wait till my son turns 21 so I an get him an IWC.

imo, after you buy iwc, you'll think about Panerai and another brands all the time. but after you buy Panerai, you'll only think to buy more Panerai. Does it make sense to Pam's fan?! JK. Panerai get my vote!

Agreed, if Panerai is calling you it's cheaper to just answer rather than prolonging the inevitable with "other" watches. PAM's have a cult-like following for a reason.

Be careful....it is hard to own just one Panerai...

I started with a 111G

Then it multiplied!

I had to make that decision recently. I was about to buy a IW3777-01 and then I spotted a PAM 188 in TRF. I bought the Panerai.
