Which is bigger?

Technically the Sub C and Sub C Date are both 40mm. But I have found that the Sub C appears bigger then the date because there is less going on on the face.

Is it just me or does one "appear" bigger then the other?

I agree. I've noticed the same effect on Panerai 372/422 where one has a busier dial than the other and therefore appears smaller.

Thanx everyone this is helpful.
I know they are technically the same dimensions, but I want to know if one appears larger then the other.

I was at my AD yesterday and I tried them both on. The date just LOOKED smaller then the no date.
