My Favorite Enabler, Greekbum, Strikes Again with a 5512 (Pictures)
I am trying to decide on a new-to-me watch. My criteria is simple, it has to be a Rolex Submariner. I am playing a numbers game. Do I go with a 1680, a 5513, or try and find a 5512.
A gilt or a red are out of the question price wise. I had not seen anything I wanted and so I had given up for a while. I had a friend that wanted my GMT 16803. I did not want to sell it because I liked it and had nothing else that interested me! I texted and talked to Nick and we went over what I was looking for. He made suggestions and he told me enough about each I decided to go with the 5512. He just happened to have one in very nice condition, really nice. It did not look like it had been polished, it is also very symetric! I decided to go for it. Nick is very patient and easy to deal with. I wired him the money. He got it the next day and mailed my watch to me the same day. It was delivered the next day. Three days and the watch was in my hands. The first pictures are the ones Nick sent me. The eighth was me opening the box. the last is the first day I wore it. Thanks, Nick, the watch is amazing!

Gorgeous piece. Nick is a great guy real gentleman to deal with and knows his stuff. Got my 16750 from him years ago and still not seen many better examples out there.. :-)

Yet another example of "buy the seller" being sage advice.

Jeez, Larry, that's a beauty. I agree about the case — it looks like it is in superb condition. Is the dial original or service replacement?
Lastly, who is this Nick person? |

Nick is Greekbum! I call him my enabler because he finds very nice watches and is so easy to deal with. He is a long time vendor on the RF. http://www.rolexforums.com/member.php?u=4080
