Incoming 1680 red MK V.

Hello all!

Finally found the 1680 I have been looking for, for quite some time.
This one came with the box and papers that I had made a thread about yesterday.
Serial 3.3M.
It is an absolute beauty, in my humble opinion.
I have put it on a rivet which I managed to source, as I have always loved the way they look, and how comfortable they are.

The last two pictures are just me goofing around with a different insert.
Gives the watch a complete different look, which I like equally!

Hope you guys like the pics!!

Gorgeous piece! For what it's worth, I think, in this case, the darker insert works much better than the heavily faded one.

Here, too....huge congrats Adel bro!!!
Fantastic condition! You know I'm a friend of the T127 on a 1680 cause it gives such a cool oldschool look, but the T19 is lookin' great on this piece, too!
Enjoy! Lookin' forward to many great shots on IG :-)

Amazing patina and a stunning timepiece. All you need now is the correct top hat crystal! (Your 1665 will get jealous.)

As for the insert, I usually love faded inserts, but I agree with the above, the darker insert looks better. I've found that faded inserts don't look as good with heavy patina'd dials, although just a personal preference, of course. Congrats!

Beautiful aquisition; just superb.
I've grown to like the T19 crystal on a 1680, maybe even more than the top hat. Regarding the second insert, to me it doesn't have the appearance of being naturally faded; instead it looks chemically treated.

Haha Aaron, thank you so much for the comments.
I actually had the T127 top hate changed to this dome.
I am very partial to the look and feel of the dome.

I do agree with the darker insert. Not a bad problem to have when picking though
Hope you're well, thanks again!

All subjective, but the back of the insert tells the story. This one has faded very nicely IMO.
If one could chemically fade it this way, he will make a lot of money I think!

Also, just like you the T19 was a slow process of growing on me.
Now I pretty much love the dome look and the look without the cyclops.
Thanks again!

Nice! Another personal preference, but the cyclops on an original date wheel is more striking visually, IMHO. It magnifies those great open 6s and 9s, and the fat font and silver of the original date wheels. A dome doesn't do that!

Absolutely love the colours, a real beauty. I think one of these will be my next purchase - if there is something as nice around to join my new to me GMT

I think I have started a new addiction...

Very nice. I have the top hat on mine, but seeing your no-cyclops has made me think...
