Thoughts on vintage tudor

Any experts on vintage tudor subs? It was on eBay a while back. Just curious about it as I have a chance to acquire it.

The dial seems relumed quite badly. But I am not an expert and perhaps it has not aged very well

I think I looked at that one too. If I recall there was very little info on the watch and the pictures didn't show enough to help either. There were a few flags for me so I stayed away.

If it is the one I was thinking of the seller said he got it from an "old" fellow who he kept hounding to sell to him. I think he said it was from 1961 or so. When I did some digging I found another post from six months earlier using the same pictures but listing it as another model. The only photos were a few wrist shots in the guys vehicle. I would love to pick up an early 7928 but I want to see pics of the numbers, better pics of the dial and the movement is possible. The story just didn't add up so I moved on. I could be wrong but I feel like the pics you posted might be the same ones.

64 - with a redial, the correct dial is very expensive if you can find it. Insert looks cracked at pearl.

I was bidding but passed before it 3k

Photos are no better - almost as if they don't want you to see it clearly

The camera needs to be focused on the dial and bezel. This is the type of photo clarity that we need to evaluate: Credit to HqMilton

Bad photos. The redial is bad enough that I can tell with certainty. How much does seller want?

I would pass on this watch, mainly for the bad re-lume job on the dial.

I wonder if the domed acrylic crystal is distorting the lume ? I think it's domed, hard to tell anything in those pics.

Well, that is a pretty good price. The 390 if running well is 700, plus 100 for crown. The case you can't touch for less than $2000. So the bezel is free. You can't touch an insert like that wth a bezel ring for less than 800 or so. If you don't own one... Why not
