Vintage is a nostalgic term that is different for different folks; it has no absolute definition.

X2. A lot of watch hobbyists believe that at a minimum it needs to be an acrylic crystal watch with a tritium dial/hands to be vintage. Others have an arbritary 25-year-old rule. There is no absolute definition, but there are plenty of threads about the topic previously discussed on this forum.

So, not a "simple" question after all.

not applying directly to watches, but from what I have read, 'vintage' should not be used in reference to objects less than 20 years old...

From a collectible stand point, it's a whole different story.

This was actually an easy question to answer.

It started 1905.
