What is your favorite yellow gold Rolex?
If you were to have one steel Rolex and one YG Rolex in your collection which would you chose? . I would probably pick the 116618 in blue or black for the glide lock. Here are a couple of my favorite google pictures of those models.

The Sub is stunning, but I really love the green dial GMT....but is any PM Rolex really a "bad" choice...NEVER!!
Congrats on the beautiful piece regardless mate!!

I've worn a YG DayDate for over 25 years and wouldn't change it. I've got other Rolex and Patel watches, but the DayDate is, for me, the definitive Rolex.

If I were to buy a PM Rolex, it would be the Day-Date. I prefer steel for all the others.

There is nothing more musculine and gold than YACHT-MASTER II 44 ММ 116688 for me. Anyone else for yacht-master?

I would go with the 114060 for the SS and I would probably go with the 116618LN for the YG.

I think I would have to agree with the DD40 black dial. That or the YG GMT but I think DD40 would be a must if I'm going YG.

It's a hard decision for me because I love the green dial GMT2, but I also love the YM with white MOP and ruby dial

If 1 SS and 1 YG were the only two watches I could have, and choose from.....it'd be YG DD 40, silver motif dial, SS Daytona.

Sticking just to two models, for SS it would be 116610LV and YG would be DD/DD40.

No YG for me but if I were to want one it would be the green dial GMT. As for the SS it's the Daytona C.

Buddy Josh!
You have recently been going through thoughts of 16710, BLNR, Hulk, CK-2998, Ceramic Daytona, Snoopy and now YELLOW GOLD... life must be good in grad school buddy! I wish I had the capacity to consider these wonderful toys when I was in graduate school back then. To your question, I am in the LB camp. |

That's my blue Subc in the top pic and I also have the ND Subc. I actually found a blue and yellow Rolex tie to go with it but unbelievably it got lost in the post.

I have these two. If it had to be YG it would be the blue Sub. Like you say the Glidelock is genius - more so on the gold models.
I do like the YG Yachtmaster II though! |
