1665 Great White or Maxi 5513

Hi,

I'm conflicted on which watch to pick up. I like them both but thinking the 1665 is a better example but obviously pricier. Any input would be much appreciated!

5513 Maxi Mk3: http://www.chrono24.com/rolex/1979-m...-id6405738.htm

Best,

JG

Don't know much about either of them from a collectors perspective, but I sure like that 5513.

The 5513 is nice, but it looks like it has a service insert and crystal. Nothing wrong with that, but worth noting.

The 1665 looks nice too, and I'd go with the SD if I had the extra cash. Very different watches on the wrist, so it's a matter of personal preference. I'd research here:

Interesting..I own a mk3 5513 and a mk1 1665 lol...so my favorites. This is going to be a hard pick...but if money allows I think nice 1665s are a bit harder to come by....both very comfortable though imo.

1665

Yes. I am leaning towards the 1665. Didn't realize the 5513 had service insert. I've tried on a 1665 and doesn't feel too big. This looks great and hopefully all original!

I just bough a 1665 and am loving it, I think 1665 Great White's were only made for 3 or 4 years which makes it more rare than the 5513, if you have the money, I would recommend the 1665.

Well according to the advert., the 5513 is only good to 30 meters, so I'd pass on that one

Have both and for me the 1665 is much better, just feels that little more substantial but whatever you choose you should be happy.
