Vintage Submariner Pricing

I have a 1964 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner 5513 that I am trying to determine the value of. The valuation of this watch varies a great deal and I am wondering what is the best way to obtain a fair appraisal.

Can vary a lot depending on the dial, lugs, bracelet, etc.

It takes fewer than 5 minutes to research almost any Rolex model and find what they are being sold for across the Internet.
I’d say very few people here are able to get a good value on their watch if it is rare or in excellent condition. Can’t see the harm in helping people get fair and decent valuations.

A newbie could potentially lose a lot of money when they compare apples to oranges.

Depending on condition and version it could be worth anywhere from less than 10k to over 100k.

We need pictures to be able to help.

From under 10K to over 100K... that should narrow it down

Perhaps, but those are the forum rules. Everyone was a newbie at some point, and I would hope that people are using all resources to do their own research, which is quite easy nowadays.

Many factors play into the value of a vintage watch - to include the year, condition and originality.

Based on those three factors, it isn't hard to understand why there is such a spread in prices. Two Submariner 5513s from the same year could feasibly be valued thousands of dollars apart.
