I haven’t ruled out the new one yet but couldn’t get my hands on one. This one was hard to pass up. Classic style. Single year limited edition. Blue numbers.

Also, I have the constant force mechanism with the Grönefeld to hold me over.

I’m with you on the 5167. But at $33k? Eh....

I can’t blame you. That 2019 version is superb. I was hunting it down back in Jan and every boutique said, “all sold”. You did so well. I wanted the red/red version (which I still adore) but this platinum is so versatile. Looks great on your wrist.

I am with you on the Aquanaut. The only other I wear is a Tudor Bucherer BlackBay. The thing is like a hockey puck on the wrist but I am so emotionally attached to it. Great for the ocean and pool side.

Curious. Let me know what you end up getting.

Unrelated or maybe to solve the need, I bought a controversial piece today. The Octa Sport limited Indy series on the rubber strap - without the big logo on the dial. I will share pictures Wednesday. Might just pick up a no date sub until I build the Patek relationship.

Wow! That is intense. Would love to see those pictures. Right now, the Octa Sport is not a favourite and mostly due to my ignorance on the piece. I will try and read up on it.

Nice pickup OP. Forget the sub, stay with independents. Czapek Antarctique 120mm water resisntace, 10 mm thick.

Look it up! It’s like wearing nothing at all. Seriously. A lot of watch for such little weight. Plus, check out the lume!

I’m pretty satisfied. Still buying a sub too though :)

Woah woah Czapek marketing team hijacking the thread!!

I will wait to see yours first. Then regret not getting one. The usual cycle.

Nice... I came so close at one point. It is clearly one of the nicest Journe pieces out there

Update : found my actual pool watch. And it’s lovely. I have been sleeping on this piece for too long.

That’s not a journe. :)

Seriously, OP. Great collection all around. I like your resonance and remontoire (even if not a journe) best.

Am still befuddled why you let go of the centrigraphe. Now, am having second thoughts.

But knowing me, will push thru and find out for myself.

I’m lacking a chronograph in the collection and have my regrets about selling it now. It was coming up for a service and have three other Journe pieces. So it worked out.

But man, watching that thing in action was incredible.

I feel I’ve traded right since then. Have some solid pieces and room to grow.

On that note, which chronograph should I get? I’ve tried all the Daytona’s and they just aren’t for me.

Great pool watch! I should have thought about this one. Nice! I live the brown dial version.

Maybe the triple split. Or double split.

When i went thru my chronograph phase, tried to find one watch that had a rattrapante, foudroyante and retour en vol.

Wasnt able to find one. What i got were three pieces that had two of each.

Good luck with your hunt. Would ask you later re the remontoire. Also tried ordering one but sold out. Theyre telling me to either waitlist (but unlikely as no one has backed out so far) or shift to the principia.

Congrats on the VCO. I may be in the minority but I prefer the black dial vs the blue. Pairs much nicer with the rubber and strap. Looks fantastic.
