Vanguard Rubber Strap on Tudor BB GMT

Wanted to add a rubber option for the GMT as an option for summer where some on-the-go adjustment may be needed over the bracelet.

After a little research and looking at a few options from various brands, I decided to settle on the Vanguard in blue. This appealed to me because it wasn’t the most expensive, the colour looked good, designed well and this strap allowed me to use the clasp from the Tudor OEM leather bracelet. Price wasn’t a primary concern for me, but it did help this wasn’t the most expensive of the options out there.

Incase anyone else is looking for something similar, I figured I’d share my thoughts and I’d recommend taking a look at the Vanguard as an option. It wears comfortable, tapers nicely, feels well made and looks great with the Tudor clasp. Delivery from Vanguard to the UK was also very quick at 3 days.

Only negative so far has been it was a little bit of a fiddle to get it fitted properly. I think this is down to the spring bars being slightly longer than necessary - they’re a few mm longer than the Tudor OEM ones.

Great match and a real plus being able to employ the Tudor clasp. Enjoy that combo!

I went with Bonetto Cinturini 400 & custom end links, just wish I could use the Tudor deployant. Also love the BC rubber nato.

Well done sir and thank you for sharing!! That looks terrific and having the Tudor clasp is such a good combo.

Use mine with the Rubber B combo like that and wears awesome. I really like the blue you choose from Vanguard!

To me the rubber looks better on my 6 digit Submariner. The Tudor GMT vibe leans towards retro / vintage and the riveted bracelet and dark blue nato sure do look at home on this bad boy too!! Enjoy

First time I’ve seen it on a blue rubber strap, may be the best combination for it. Wonder how red or white rubber would look.

who'd you source the endlinks from? Smarty, the slightly cheaper ebay seller, or someone else?

Yep, these are from Smarty. When using the end links you'll need to shave a bit of rubber around the spring bar ends to get them to fit properly. It only takes some fine sandpaper and a few minutes.

That looks great. Seriously considering getting one. Is there any trick to getting the deployant on and off the strap? I've never tried removing mine from the OEM leather strap.

Cheers folks - very pleased with this one. Although the steel bracelet works well, the lack of adjustability is a killer so I'm looking forward to putting this one through it's paces! I often wonder why Tudor don't just provide something like an easylink for their bracelets, can't be that difficult or costly to manufacture. I've seen someone add an easylink to the bb58 but with a wider clasp it's not possible on the larger bbs.

Dan - loving those combos and think the smarty links look great - I did look up the strap you had which I saw on an older post a little while ago, but decided on the Vanguard to utilise the deployant I already had.

This is the easiest part. There's a spring bar which holds the buckle and buckle tongue together. It clips out easily and allows removal.

Cool, never knew it was that simple. Always assumed it used a screw like the links.
