Some of my recent pick-ups...
Yamazaki 12
Weller 12 x2
Michter’s 10
Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye
Old Forester Statesman
Old Forester 1910 x2
Yellowstone 101 2019 LE
Frey Ranch x2

The Frey Ranch is from a local farm here in Northern Nevada. Four Grain mash, aged 5 years, 90 proof. It’s a great pour, and it’s supporting a local brand.

Cracked open the WR Master's Collection Chocolate Malted Rye and not a fan at all too much Cocoa flavor and short finish. Not worth the 100 price tag.

Picked up this 1.75L monster last evening. It is a great single malt for cigar pairing.

Have you tried HW A MIDWINTER NIGHTS DRAM by any chance? That's another one I been meaning to try but its another $100ish bottle don't want it to be another disappointment like the WR.

Midwinters dram is great, not easy to come by. It has a nice cinnamon finish. Def worth 80-100 dollars. Most places have it at 125-140. It’s actually my favorite from high west, I am usually down for 2-3 bottles in the fall. I’m not a fan of the other high west bottles. For around 100 dollars the macallan numer 5 in the purple box is really nice as well.

Yes, I am a fan. Being finished in port barrels doesn’t make it nearly as sweet as one might imagine. The two ryes used a fairly young, but rye ages faster than bourbon, so the flavors are strong. I missed an opportunity to get one at Costco for $80, and by the time I made it back to my usual shop to get it at $100, they were gone.

Luckily, a buddy had it for us on New Year’s, so I got a good pour then. If you find it, don’t pass it up! Cheers!

Thanks for the thoughts. I'll look to pick up a bottle if my local spots have one in stock.

Accidentally posted in the Wine thread earlier... oops...

Three bottles I won in auctions overseas. The Blanton’s and Weller are pretty standard, but the special bottle is the birth year (1984) bottle of Wild Turkey 101. Looking forward to popping that one, but it’ll have to wait until I get home later this year. Maybe save it for my next birthday...

Any comments on the dream casks? The 32 was one of the best non-Scotch whiskey's I've ever had. JMHO

Finally opened my Bunnahabhain 25 I picked up on Islay last year. Peat is their best friend and I’m perfectly fine with that. It was beautiful.
