I would not wear a Rolex to the beach. Sand is hard to clean out of bracelet.
If you own a G-Shock, wear that one to the beach.

I always wondered about that - with my Sub C - what happens when small grains of sand get in between the bracelet links or between the bezel and the watch. I haven't popped the bezel off my Sub C yet, but how does one clean their watch after a rough day at the beach?

Well, I'll find this weekend, but just curious...

I would wear my Rolex to the beach, I would wear my Rolex eating a peach.
If the bracelet has some sand, wash it off by hand.

Is there some policy or mechanism where you can force people to have to return their dive watches?

Wear your Seiko instead if it makes you more comfortable. Your DSSD is only good for the shower, swimming pool or when it's raining. :D

WARNING: Just make sure you don't go down to 12,801 feet, that would be a real disaster...

You won't have to worry about the bezel! Personally, I wouldn't go rolling it around in the sand. I'd be nice to it. As for a few grains getting on it (with the sea breeze or whatever), wash em off! Oh and give it a good soaping up with liquid hand soap at the end of the day to get all that salt water off it (most hotels have liquid hand soap in little bottles :D) Have a good time bud!

This was almost 4 years ago to the day, I think my Sub was about 2 mouths old.

Don't remember thinking about the salt and sand, just about having a good time at the beach...

LOL. Funny stuff. No, I know the DeepSea can take the beach and then some. Just curious about sand getting into some parts and not being able to get it out. Also wondering about it getting scratched. Should I worry about getting a DSSD scratched, well yes, right now anyways since it cost me 10 large and its brand new. I am sure in a few years I won't care if I bang the hell out of it but I'm still in my honeymoon period I guess. So conclusion? Wearing it to the beach. Whatever happens I'm sure it won't be the end of the world.
