I saw the GMT 2 and its nice, it has risen in price to 10,500 SGD in Singapore. Not a bad piece but i still like the Daytona better.
Hi, you mind sharing with me where did you get your SS Black Daytona in Singapore? New or pre-owned? How much? I'm looking for one in Singapore as well, but the prices are way above MSRP in the US.

I have got my name on the waiting list for a Daytona & I'm leaning towards the black dial, as part of the deal will mean me having to flip my GMT IIc.
And I do like a black face on at least one of my watches.
That and the fact that it was part of the deal that I struck with "She who must be obeyed"
Though I know that a poll I ran recently came out with the white dial on top.
I don't know if thats because most members would of already have got a black dial & would like a change or in fact that the white dial is more easier to read, over to those who are fortunate to have one of each.

I have seen White and Black side by side in the wild. The White is way easier to read.

I am glad I got White because I have 2 other Black dial Rolex.

I got the White because it is what was offered to me at MSRP from my AD. I would have taken the Black, but I am glad I got the White. It is just a beautiful stunning Dial!

Kansaivet, Thanks for the info, I wish that I was more clear cut with this one, I'm just so undecided, I suppose that I will just have to wait and see what comes, i know that I have always got the opportunity to get the dial changed, if I don't like what it.

BEWARE........A Black Daytona is just the begginning!

Congrats on your first Rolex............
You apparenly lucked out too!.
It's like getting a Ferrari right after getting your driver's license!.
But beware.....once you have a black daytona, it doesn't end there........
You will want the collection........you'll be thinking of a white one........
just a matter of time.......
Once you get the white, you won't have to worry on which one is better......you'll have both.
Good Luck!.

Morgan

It seems easier to get in Singapore although it always commands a premium here. Not that much waiting needed although even if you placed an order here and wait, you would pay about the same. The price has just recently gone up, its 21k SGD right now for a new black face SS and from what i heard, all the ADs are going to adjust their prices soon following the adjust ment in the US.

You can still get them by paying the "premium" prices by going to the AD and getting it here. Even some pre-owned ones are available but at about 18,500 SGD so it seems that resale value are very very good. There was one SS with the inverted dial and white face that the pre-owned guy was trying to sell me at 16k SGD, would that be a good price? Its white face though so not very appealing to me but it has the rare inverted dial.

I just recently saw a TT one with champagne face and diamonds at a pre-owned dealer, bought it immediately as i fell in love with it and it has zenith movement and price was great. Bought it so i could alternate between the 2 watches, they look very good side by side and complements each other.

Hi Oasisash78,

Sure. For black dial, SS, Its about 21 k plus right now for new, 18.5k for pre-owned( i think can negotiate down a little). All prices are in SGD. Fetching good prices now the Daytona, even the pre-owned guy was kind of reluctant to sell it to me, i got my TT with diamonds at 13k SGD and comes with 1 year shop warranty.

Thats a very good wish to have and a goal to look forward to, its always a sense of accomplishment when you worked hard and earned it, the feeling when you put it on your hands is something some would say is better than sex.

Congrats on a great watch. I do like the black but I have the white face. The white face just makes it jump out imho. Great find though.

When (or, more likely, if) I have a spare £12,000 burning a hole in my pocket (that seems to be the going rate here if you want to jump the queue), that is what I shall buy.

Very nice Daytona Ricky! Black dial would be my choice too. Hope you're lovin' every minute with it.

Daytonas in Singapore are readily available in the ADs, but are always sold above list prices of SGD$12,929. Expect to pay around S$19,000 for a black dial and slightly lesser for a white dial here.

Nice watch you got for your missus as well, on some days she can wear the daytona and you can wear the explorer 1.

I prefer the white SS daytona

I got my white SS Daytona a month ago in Singapore during my Vacation. Of course I have to pay premium for it S$17000 and I bought another rolex for my wife for a great price at about 20% below retails.

I had a few quotes from Singapore ADs about S$18000 before. But decide to try my luck walking in to ADs only sell Rolex next to Singapore RSC.

I was surprise that they have at least 3 SS daytona in that shop. I think of getting the black dial before I walk in the shop as it seem more popular now ..... but after wearing both side by side on my hands I picked the white dial as it more readable and different I have a hard time reading the black... but again, I will get one black and one white it they sell them at retail prices.

...I ask the AD if they have another white dial for me to pick, he smiles and turn around and take out another white SS daytona. I wonder how many they have. I know almost all the ADs in Singapore have at least a SS daytona. But that AD probably have quite a few.

here are a few of my white dial SS day to share

MC1010 you can't get a SS daytona in HK in MSRP. They will show the SS daytona to you if the price is right

I read somewhere that its the white face daytona that sells at more of a premiums ( or was it that the black one is more popular and fetches a premium in east / far east and the white one in the west ?)
