I don't know. I can honestly say I never thought about what my fellow watch lovers desired. I simply looked at the wonderful collection of watches within this post. Me personally, my first luxury watch was purchased used at the ripe old age of 26 in 1976. This was a VC, manufactured in 1950 for a steal of $200.00. Five years later, purchased a Rolex day/date, yellow gold. June of 2018 my wife bought me a Breitling 44 GMT 2-tone. The Vacheron was a pure dress watch, manual wind. The Rolex is a beautiful tank, vertically indestructible. The Breitling, well, this B04 is an "instrument for professionals". I really like all of the, however like most people. I like the one purchased most recently. Other wise I would not have pulled the triger.

Do Rolex owners (secretly) yearn to own higher end brands: Patek, RM, Lange, AP, etc?
I have 3 Rolex’s but have only yearned for one watch, and have done so since I was 7 years old. I am 47 now. I was 7 years old when at a lifetime friends house, his father brought home a YG DD36 with a maroon face. I was bowled over and knew even then that one day I would own one. Since then till this summer I continued to dream about the DD day to come. On June 25th I went to my local AD who is a friend and purchased a DD40 in ER. this purchase is huge in anyone’s life but should still come with a surprise. Mine was that I saw the YG as one day mine for 40 years, but fell in love with the everrose in the store. I have never wanted anything else, I could afford to pay a lot more to buy a watch, but Rolex is my connection to watches. So the point of my story is that something like this is an emotional connection and the brand is irrelevant. It’s what makes you happy. I
