Got a new lens

Received a used macro lens today and started taking shots with it using my homemade light box. Still playing with lighting and settings but absolutely having a blast with it. Would probably need to get another lamp, maybe a tripod and a lot more practice.

Critiques welcome.

Nice pictures. And wow, the condition of your piece is immaculate.

Btw, what lens and camera (D300S according to exif) are you using?

Thanks! Condition is great, considering the watch is 4 years old already, but I assume yours is the same?

Lens is a 'AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G' stepped down to f22 for most shots.

Correct, also have the 15707. My most worn watch over the last 3 years We have been through a lot, many countries/continents visited with it on my wrist.

Very nicely done. Macros are very tricky to pull off due to dust, razor-thin depth of field, lighting - Congrats!

Not bad but you need more dof for movement pix.

In the first pix I can’t see anything in focus and in the last one only the ‘AP’.
