14790 ST and the 2225 movement
I would like to know the quality of the 14790ST compared to the most modern Royal Oak. Case, bracelet ...
And the 2225 movement is less reliable than the 3120? |

I have two 14790ST, one of them since more then 12 years. It‘s ohne of my favorite daily „beaters“, very precise and still waterproof to 50 meters without having been overhauled since the purchase. Compared to my 15202 (from 2011) and my 5402 it‘s the RO most qualified for daily wearing.
The 2225 is based on a JLC 889 -a beautiful and highly reliable movement. I have several watches with the JLC 889 and never had a problem with it. |

As for quality, is it worse than the modern Royal Oak?

it depends on your definition of „quality“. The answer is „no“ with regard to precision, reliability and stability of value. The bracelet and case are slimmer, which I find more elegant, „AP-style“ and thus more preferable...
