5136 vs 3940

Are there differences between the 5136 vs the 3940 other than the bracelet?

From what I read both hold the same movement, the Caliber 240Q (if I'm not mistaken, the Caliber 240 is the annual calendar version, which was developped in 1977, whilst the 240Q is the perpetual calendar version, which was developped in 1984). The main difference is that the 3940 has a 36mm case while the 5136 has the case and bracelet (which is made from metal and is attached to the case) of its annual calendar cousin the 5036.

All in all, take the 3940's movement, insert it in a 5036's case and bracelet (which are soldered together) and you get the 5136.

EDIT: Here are some pictures (which are not mine)!

The 5036 (annual calender) has the 315 movement not the 240 I believe.

My apologies if I didn't express myself properly, I did not mean to say the 5036 had the caliber 240, I just wanted to say that this movement had an annual calendar. You are most probably right though as the 5036 has a large centered rotor instead of a small one.

Below are more pictures (again, not mine).

My 5036 has removable WG bracelet. It is not soldered to the case. It is my understanding that these 5036's are quite rare.

I read this on a French website that stated that the bracelet was intégré to the case, I assumed the writer meant that it was integrated and that both formed an unique piece of metal but it is very possible that I'm mistaken. Does the section I bolded in your post mean that there are some 5036's with integrated bracelets and that those very models are rare or that the reference itself is not common?

The reference was popular. It is my understanding that the removablity of the bracelet was not.

The above picture of the backside of the lugs on the YG 5036 does not resemble the backside of the lugs on my WG 5036. It would be very easy to remove my bracelet with a Bergeon tool.

Understood, thank you for the explanation!
