I understand the op’s frustrations - ADs (particularly in London) have developed even more attitude due to the current supply / demand imbalance.

It’s quite unnerving even walking into one of these places.

I personally avoid the big chains - the sales staff here are the worst to me. It’s like a privilege to be allowed to enter the store and browse the vast collection of bi-colour datejusts.

When I last called into that establishment Krystal told me that she would "Love me long time if i was packing the Dollaaahs"

or Is my memory mistaking the London AD for somewhere else?

I agree with this. I was in London for 3 days last and except for waiters and shop assistants only 3 people spoke to me and one of those was a prostitute asking for business and another was a man sleeping rough asking for a donation. Head up north and people tend to just strike up a friendly conversation if you make eye contact.

I believe the air of superiority drifting across the park from Buckingham Palace, permeates the ADs in the area resulting in archaic practises like “licking of ones balls “ , to get on a list for ss models in Old Bond St

Yeah I think the point the other person was making, is that London is an entirely different place to the rest of the UK, in terms of its people.

I agree with that.

Here’s the problem, they don’t need your business. That goes for the majority of Rolex ADs across the country right now. They know they will sell every single sport model that get. They will sell most of the datejust they get, and now, most of the TT or PM watches they receive. Their is absolutely no need to cater to the customer anymore. Not saying i like it or agree with it, it’s what the brand has created.

Based on the AP AD thread you should await your meeting with the President of Rolex, followed by an offer to buy 5 SS sport models at retail, then the ability to post photos disappears . I think that's the progression now a days.

I spoke to a guy from the Preston’s Rolex boutique on the phone recently and he was very pleasant. Had a nice conversation about collecting Tudor and Rolex. Didn’t get the Exp II I was after, but didn’t expect to. For a start, I don’t even live in Leeds.

You’ve no chance of getting any sports models from them, VIP customers only is the vibe I get from them

Valid point. I do find that, in general, merchants in and around London tend to be “rude.” I’m not sure anyone should take it personal...just how it is. Big city.

They said, perhaps she’s had to work with others in the past that perhaps changed their mind and is in general pissy.

This is my patch and I haven't noticed rudeness. Have I become desensitised?
It's not that I'm one of the Beautiful People who get more care and attention.
Must be my aura!

Anyway, back to Krystal...

Not surprised the Bond St staff are like that.

No excuse though. Exactly what you would expect in That London*.

If you come to the capital (Manchester) people are much friendlier.

Note.
*London is not really a city. Just a few villages next to each other.
Manchester is friendly only until you go to Prestons in Wilmslow and speak to Akash Rajput, the guy is super rude

I cannot speak more highly of Preston’s Rolex dealers. More than one store, but especially Leeds are brilliant to deal with.

Let's put in this way, you got the watch through another dealer, you got the refund and you can let a negative review .... you won and the AD lost
