Hi guys! Just found a green aquanaut strap listed on Chrono24 today. Seller has 20 5 stars reviews. Strap looks legit but he says he cant guarantee originality. He's asking 1200 euros. Anybody here know if its original or not? Thanks!

He does not say he cannot guarantee originality. He says it is not a Patek strap.
And that is correct. The strap is aftermarket. However, the seller has great reputation within the watches world. If you like aftermarket, go for it. If you expect same look and feel as a Patek strap, forget it. |

I love the Khaki strap on the 5167... wore mine on it exclusively and bought a few more khaki rubbers to have for stock because I like the look much more than wearing it on the black rubber. Enjoy.

Even at half that price I'd need full proof it was real.

Don’t buy aftermarket. They are garbage. Only the real deal will suffice. If you have a 40k+ aquanaut then bite the bullet and spend the 6k on the correct kaki if you can find one. It’s worth it. Something is worth what people are willing to spend on it. Don’t get caught up on the fact it’s rubber. People are paying 500k for stainless steel big crowns... Anyone that says otherwise is just hating because they can’t find one and or they can’t afford it.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like it is a fake as I suspected. Crazy he still wants 1200 euros for it!

I’m sure people said that about paying more than 10k for a milsub once... Rubber or gold. It makes zero difference. Something is worth what people are willing to pay contingent on supply and demand... Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk

$6k for this is just silly. Looks totally crap as well in my view but appreciate everyone has different tastes.

I think the green strap looks great. I bought mine from Oryx and can recommend him as a reliable seller without hesitation.

''The original green-dialed Aquanaut was in fact a ref. 5167A, which is the 40mm stainless steel version of the Aquanaut. Only a handful were made – many believe the number to be under 10, and some even say fewer than five genuine examples exist – and they were special orders for good clients, produced around 2010/2011. You couldn't just waltz into your local retailer and pick one up out of the case. They very rarely change hands and the last one I could find in a public auction sold back in 2015 at Sotheby's, fetching CHF 52,500. Today one of these would almost certainly be a six-figure watch at auction.''

It's kind of a bummer, Patek could really spice up the Aquanaut line by making different color straps available across compatible references. I bought the midnight blue strap for the 5164A from an AD and would love to own the OEM khaki strap but, peesonally, I'd never pay more than $500 for it
