Not a big fan of the Platona but would prefer it over the 5164 as I dislike those pushers and don't want any travel time complication.

If you want a daily, no question the 5164.
Platona too heavy. |

See, that's the thing... Those of us that love the Platona love it for the weight.
So it's all subjective. Also, you posted this in the Patek subforum. :) Post it in the main Rolex forum and see how the poll shifts. In the end, buy what you feel makes you happiest... And enjoy it in good health! |

Patek Philippe 5164A Aquanaut Travel Time...obviously!
One of my golden rule : Steel for sport watches, Platinum for grand complications. |

I own both of these and LOVE the platona...but my wife made the decision for me as she has claimed the platona as hers and i'm "stuck" with the 5164a

I owned them both. VERY tough to answer since they are such different pieces. But...if I was forced to pick I would have to go with the 5164.
Why? A couple reasons. First, the Platona is just waaayyyy too heavy. Conversely, the Patek is a dream to wear. Secondly, the travel time complication is more useful than the chrono on the Rolex. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I’m actually waiting for my 5164 to reach nib 506 pricing to consider this exact move, it may be awhile. I need Mayer to push the 64 some more

Not really a fan of both watches, but I would go with the platona.

Apples & oranges. I dislike the Platona’s brown bezel, so I guess it’s the 64.
