Shorter waitlist for 5711 ROSE GOLD?

Hi. Dont think this has been discussed before. Does the 5711 in rose gold has the shortest waitlist than the blue or white face dial?

Is the waitlist time from longest to shortest like this:

5711 Blue face -> white face -> rose gold

Correct.

I was told 25 years plus for 5711 in blue, 15 years or so for 5711 white and maybe 10 years for a Rose Gold Nautilus.

Yea I figured. With the blue face trading at 80k+, I would rather just wait shorter and pay retail for the rose gold. I will pop into my AD today and check the status.

Apparently the bubble has burst (based on various recent threads) and grey prices are tumbling so expect the waiting lists to reduce sharply. Some members even predicted secondary prices for the blue 5711 will be at or below retail in 2020. They may be wishful thinkers though, But if the bubble is gone along with the waiting list, you should forget MSRP on sports models and expect a discount.

It may be worth a try, but I don’t believe it myself. Indeed I posted a few days ago about a UK grey with a flash sale including 5711 and 5167, the new sale prices we’re crazy mental, the highest I have seen for a 5711 in the UK for a while, so not a sale really.

The waiting lists depend greatly on where you are located in the world and the AD you are dealing with, it is not really predictable. The rose gold version MAY be slightly easier, although still expect a really long wait unless you have a very good relationship with your AD, especially in the UK.

The bubble hasn't burst for retail purchases. It's for greys and it's affecting the Asian market only - From rumours, due to the lack of Chinese tourists due to the 11th week of protests in Hong Kong.

The supply of sports Pateks will remain at an all-time low. Stern doesn't care.

I know, its such great news. Although once they start talking in HK watch those prices soar again, bigger and higher. Its a great time for me and others who have all the hot sports models they want, not so good for those waiting but at least they are on the waiting list.

I am still waiting on all the great watches. Got my 5711/1R and it's one of the best, if not, the best watch I've ever owned. Only downside to it is that RG from Patek is softer than warm butter. You touch something with it and it's instantly scratched.

If you’re still in the game, I feel your pain. The 5711/1R is gorgeous, but I know what you mean, it’s an ouch magnet.

I think HK grey prices have seen a tiny % drop but only because of the current troubles. To be fair everything in HK is being affected including the airport, it's not just hot luxury sports watches.

It important to remember we on this forum live in a “shiny metal sports bubble”, it’s like the "steel sports hype bubble" but it has not burst yet. In short, we on this forum view the world with luxury sports watch glasses on, so sometimes we miss the bigger picture.

Really as much as that, is this on all Patek sports models in HK, has anyone seen actual evidence this is happening across all greys. Either HK grey prices were 10 -15% higher than everywhere else or it’s another “15% off flash sale” by a shady grey dealer or 2 that were 25% higher than everyone else in the first place.

If that drop is accurate for Patek sports watches in HK imagine the deals that will be available for all other Patek watches, Rolex and other brands. It must be bargain central for all luxury watches and other luxury goods right now in HK.

Mmmmm something don't sound quite right to me.

5990, 5711, 5980... I havent checked for other models in Patek. A better accuracy would have been the show they had today at Holiday Inn. Normally I show up there, but have too much on my plate at the moment for free/spare time.

Green Daytona down too. Goes for 305-310K HKD now. Down from nearly 350K.

Who knows if the market will pick up again if the protests stop and China tourists will come down to splash again.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if your having to ask you probably wouldn't be top ofthe list to get 1 without an awesome AD and if you had 1 of those you would know

The salon has stopped taking names unless they know you, AD might take a name but wou won't ho on a list without spending serious money

So if you do want 1, hold out incase bubble bursts or buy pre owned

I don't use lol lightly but ... lol. "25 years plus" is damn funny, as if 25 years alone just isn't quite enough. Great post!

Such a poor business model.

why not just say no? Or ‘a while’.

I think some ADs don’t realize how much $$ they are missing out on in (potential) future sales (of any type) by these shenanigans with consumers. Especially if they offer OTHER things as well - I.e. other watch brands, jewelry etc.

Why not take someone’s interest and AT LEAST show them something they CAN buy!!!!
