Getting my SD43 repaired and was quoted by my AD for $1700 for a replacement SD43 SS clasp.

I am just checking if that feels right.

It was my own dumb fault for needing it, but seems pricey.

That seems about right. Part prices have increased, two years ago I purchased a separate clasp for my BLNR and it was $1575 cdn + tax (including the easylink); the clasp alone was $1500 + tax.

I was quoted 5000 for a TT 93253 bracelet from the AD a few months ago.

Sorry to hear about this…must have been a difficult moment when you realized it was trashed.

Price is par for the course. Yes, “it is was it is,” and yes, it actually makes sense. The clasp price is 13% of the watch. Given the complexities of the SD43 clasp, this seems relatively normal.

That said, I’m not normal, so you can’t really go by me.

Mine cost £900 on a Daytona and another £800 for a service. They wanted 50% of the total on top of I wanted the old clasp returned.

Was that quote from a Rolex service centre? It seems to high to me. I bought a new Pepsi jubilee bracelet a couple of months ago and it was £1700 in the UK direct from Rolex.

Sounds about right, and I’d expect that from Rolex. They told me $1450 for a new bezel for my 36mm DD…WITH trade-in of the old one…straight up buying one would be more like $2200!

The actual weight of the 18k gold would equal a couple hundred bucks…I declined lol, maybe after another 10 years of wear I’ll do it.

Yikes! My 16610 is in for service right now and they quoted me $450 for that bracelet version replacement clasp... Tin can vs Glide Lock appears to have quite the price bump...

I have a friend who was backing a boat down a boat ramp and his Sea Dweller somehow came off his wrist, fell under his truck and front drivers side tire ran over it. Crazy as it sounds, it happened.

The glidelock would be special. The flip out divers extension, the larger link that’s the extensions base, the flip lock, are all complexities. Not saying it costs them 1700….just saying the cost, given the cost of the watch and that it’s not just a basic clasp, doesn’t seem ludicrous to me

Wow…I was quoted 650 for a new clasp for my PP 5712 recently. A Rolex clasp is 3x more? I guess bec it’s more complex.
