I've got a problem...

I have two grown sons and neither one wants our Rolexes.

Where did I go wrong???? They are the world's worst consumers. They purchase only basic necessities and they need very little. They do not want anything.

What both truly value are their relationships with their wives and kids.

Dad, I really enjoy expensive things, and would like to give you my address. This could make up for those lost years........

What you need is a surrogate son who really has his priorities straight and would appreciate the gesture and I'm guessing there is no shortage of volunteers around here.

Rolex isn't for everyone and sometimes I wonder whether it's for me but then I look down and soon get over that silliness. Sounds like you did a good job Papa.

Hmmmm, I wonder how many TRFers would like to be adopted? Is it even possible to adopt adults?

Maybe we could have a contest and I could collect resumes and photos and pick out a couple of "kids."

This deplorable state of affairs would not have occurred if you had Zeniths in your possession. Them boys would be busy trying to slay each other to get first dibs.

Clearly they can only appreciate lower production numbers.

I'd take them off of your hands, no problem.

Life is short and you need to have a plan, that job I did a couple of months back the son has sold all of his mothers stuff, talking about antiques and jewlery, everything went to the auction block including the vintage Mercedes and Bently.

One's 28 and is a postdoc at Duke School of Med. in Neurology Dept. He said he'd save it for his son; he's one. The other son is 24, well-educated, too. Both never buy anything new. If they can't find it used, they won't buy it. Both get stuff from garage sales or just pick it up off the street if it's just laying there.

Both have plain Jane phones $10 month each. Oldest son will not text; young one does. Oldest son has an old TV with rabbit ears; young one won't have a TV in his apt. When young son's car gives out, he plans to do without. He and his family walk or bike everywhere already.

Both boys save money religiously. At their current age, each one can live for a couple of years without any future income at all if they had to.
