Dunno - but most that I know in the legal, tech, and medical fields here in Boston in big companies/firms can sync up their iphones (and most likely droids)

Yeah, we allow that too. But the employees are buying their own phones. I just don' see any companies buying a thousand iphones or droids for their staff. It's always Blackberry.

Agreed, individuals will not buy blackberries. They aggressively market to the "Never get fired for buying (fill in yesterday's tech) folks" almost exclusively. Usually those buyers will state "It Just Works" but then snort in derision when that's offered as a reason to buy other technology products.

Many, half dozen that I recall and I don't really pay attention to it. Yes, RIM has a uniquely flawed centralized messaging architecture. I'm not certain of any other company that routes an email from a US sales rep to their US sales manager out of the US to another country and back.

Our very large medical company will pay for the IPhone, Droid, or BB. IPhone is encouraged.

Yes, many do. Oracle is a client of mine, and I'm very good friends with the guy in charge of their telecom. He's always got the latest and greatest phone(s) of his choice.

Sort of. I think if your org runs a BES, you are not affected, but if you use RIM's "BES", you are. That more or less splits it MOSTLY into personal and enterprise, but not totally.

No, we run our own BES and we had no service until late afternoon. Our UK staff were intermittent (mostly down) for several days. Stuff still pipes through their datacenters

We've been discussing phase-out of BB for a few months. This probably seals it.
