Patek 5980/1R

Whilst on my travels in Florence I visited the PP dealer on the Ponte Vecchio and a very kind sales woman showed me a 5980/1R that had just arrived that morning! She explained that it will never be put in the window and that it will only be brought out to people showing interest in the Nautilus range or offered to their best customers. She also explained that they get one SS model of a few references a year which are sold to her top Italian customers. A cool story I thought I would share, if you ever get the chance I would highly recommend visiting! There is also a quirky AP Boutique on the bridge.

It’s honestly the most beautiful watch I have ever seen in person

The pictures really don’t do it justice, I have far better quality images but can’t upload them!

That is one amazing piece. Was it uncomfortably heavy on the wrist

My personal opinion...it’s the right amount of heft on the wrist.

Scrolling through your photos, I didn't think it could get better than the 5980R, but the 40th is so nice!

Tried it on at my local grey a few times. Didn't want to leave without it. Always left feeling deflated as I wanted it so badly.

No it was perfect, just the amount you would want to expect, possibility one of the most ergonomic watches I have tried on also!

I haven’t seen the ALS AD yet, I went in AP and they had some nice pieces in, I tried on the 44mm ROO rose gold and the 42mm gold brick!
