If I wasn't leasing an EV now I'd consider a model 3, but not camping over night! No way!

There's line up in Toronto as well according to news here.

People putting $1000 deposit on a car that won't be delivered any time soon, buying sight unseen.

Sound familiar?

You will never see me in line for a phone when I can have it shipped to my door 😁

And neither for a car

Anyway exclusive cars are only for sale on invitation

Good grief. If anyone on this forum is in one of the lines I suspect they won't be admitting to it. Not my cup of tea either, but even if it was....not going to happen.

How long is your lease? They aren't even beginning production until 2017. It may be several years before you'd take delivery. Then again, that's also a good reason not to camp out and give them a grand.

Late 2018. Getting a name on the wait list now is probably like getting your name on the list for a DaytonaC.

Tesla is the Apple of the car industry. People are lining up for a $35,000 product like its a $199 iPhone. My god Tesla is good at this!!

It looks bad.

They've tried to take the design language of the Model S and transfer it to the smaller car and it just doesn't work. Lines that were long and flowing are now short and stunted and it looks forced and overly contrived. Merc made the same mistake with the CLA (from the CLS). This looks like something a Chinese maker would knock out trying to copy Tesla.

I don't know, I kind of like it. I drive BMWs so to me it reminds me of how BMW traditionally makes three sizes of the same sausage: 3 series, 5 series, and 7 series. Now of course they have added even more models but each one of them looks very similar inside and out. Only time will tell if Tesla is for real and with lasting power, I guess we’ll all see if they make it in the next few years!

Also the big reason why so many people are camping out is the tax incentives, the 35k car will cost roughly 25k after they get the tax breaks. Unfortunately the largest tax breaks are only for the first 200,000 vehicles sold and they drop off after that.

Where's the front grill? I know it doesn't need air intake but I think it looks ugly without it.

I think the interior on the model s is unacceptable for the price point. I can't imagine liking the cheaper one. No thanks!
