Vintage Inlays
I saw many times old Inlays with the font printed over the edge. At first I thought they were fake but more and more I saw them with 100% right font and some friends confirmed that the font over the edge is normal on older Inlays.
For example I saw this in eBay and remember this topic. The 40 is on the inner edge printed. The 20 closed to outer edge. The font looks to me 100% right. Also I have seen this on many 1675 older Inlays https://www.ebay.de/itm/333613920780 Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk

To the OP, I would agree with your assessment. Sometimes the numbers are properly centered and sometimes the numbers aren't.
