Received these photos from a Kermit

I've received (yes poor) photos from a "young" (OLD) lady of her attic cleanup.

I dont see any red flag right away from the watch or Im missing something big?

I see a lot of red-flags with most of the pictures and accessories.

If you really want to pursue this watch, you need some independent verification of the actual watch-in-hand.

Most of the extras are not likely original/authentic.

As said that's not what that watch would have come with. Proceed with caution

That box looks fake. Never seen a real Rolex box with that kind of cheap black velvet.

The watch is 100% fake, although the papers do appear to be from the RSC in SP, even though much older than the watch itself.

Be safe out there!

Papers look like they're from the '70s or '80s?

Truly interest to learn - what are the red flags? Could someone list them rather than just saying "so many of them"?

Print on the dial - wrong
Hour markers on the dial wrong (white gold surround too thin)
Coronet on the bracelet - wrong (too pronounced)
End link fit - horrible (easy tell of a fake)
Crown guards - wrong shape

Etc etc

This happens somewhat frequently on here so people get tired of explaining themselves.

I would use common logic and ask myself why this person would leave a valuable watch in an attic?

Dial and bezel insert fonts are off; I don't need to even look further. Box is fake but paperwork does appear to be authentic but is just generic vintage paperwork.

This is some cheap paperwork that someone bought, along with a fake box to attempt to fool someone into thinking they found a barn find for cheap.

thank you - I learnt something new today (outside of the obvious "why would it be in an attic").

Appreciate it!

Yep all this stuff
Box fake
Wrong hang tag
Handwritten, hang tag

The Attic could be real, I suppose.

You guys are amazing. It would have probably fooled me. The only redflag I saw was in one photo the 3 of the 5 dots on the crown seems to be at the same level when the middle one should be higher.

Total junk. Well not entirely... the raised crown 80s tag is worth £80 and the 90s Datejust book £10 !

It was originally posted in Vintage and I moved it, with a redirect notice, here to Watchout as it didn't need expert vintage opinions. That's why it says "Moved" in the Vintage section listing

“Attic cleanup.” Red flag.

The hang tag string. Red flag.

The hand written in serial number on the hang tag. Red flag.

The caseback sticker. No.

I bought one of those in Cozumel in 2010- lasted about 4 weeks before the crystal flew off... LOL Paid $ 40bucks - was probably too much- but wanted to give it to my kid.
