5711. Am I crazy?

Why is the 5711 less valued than its blue brother? I find it almost more beautiful. Am I crazy?

People love blue. Myself included.

But that said, the white is spectacular!

I love my white dial. Agree on the confusion, less white were made as well.

The blue one is an icon whereas the white one is just a very nice watch. Surprised the delta in market value isn't any bigger.

I own the white, and have always preferred the white, but it appears the market prefers blue.

Personally prefer the blue. Just the case that more people prefer the blue over the white which gives the price delta. Simple as that!

I know I will catch some heat for this the white dial reminds me of a white garage door, much prefer the blue dial. Love it on the 5980 though.

Subtle, understated elegance is a lot of the 5711's appeal and the blue dial showcases that aspect better than the stark, eye catching contrast of the while dial.

I prefer the Blue, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The blue on the PP 5711 and AP RO 15202 are incredible in their own right. I love blue dials, I suppose.

i love the blue, but the white is rare.
to bad if your AD will only allocate you a wite dial and you had to take it (when in fact you really wanted the blue dial).
that is exactly what happened to me with AP :)
but the silver (polar white) really grow-up on me

Several years ago I walked into my AD asking for a blue 5711, and the AD said no but offer me a white 5711 instead. That was a time when the white 5711 could be commonly seen in display cases. I chose to wait for the blue and it arrived after 18 months after some discretionary purchases at the AD. I didn't consider the white at all although it is just sitting there in the case. I find the blue gradient more beautiful and it is an iconic watch with a direct lineage to the 3700.

I love both, aside from that, I’m extremely jealous and envious, you are very fortunate to have both. You must be part of a select few that have both...nice!

I like the white dial, crisp looking and easier to read than the blue IMO

Really? Wow, you guys are so good at spotting these!
It looks almost perfect although a few things do stand out.
Dial font looks light and not spaced properly?
Date font looks wrong?
Second hand too long?
Minute hand short?
Space between the 12 markers?
Markers look a little weird in general?
Crown sticks out too far?
Hand stack looks a little funny but pic not great.
What else???

The photo is from the Internet. I was looking for pictures with both dials on them.
Sorry. I didn't realise it was fake

I like the white better on this one and AP RO. That said, I think the nautilus is a weird looking watch which is good because I can't afford to get one

I've had the 5711 when it wasn't that popular and plenty are bashing the watch. Lucky for the buyers back then, in think I got 15% discount from SRP brand new.

When the white 5711 came out, it's blue counterpart suddenly became popular. It acted as catalyst for most to like the blue version...and the rest is history.

This is my friend's white version beside my blue 5711. He sold his white when he saw my blue... now, he's a very happy camper.

I fully agree. The white dial is way more interesting on the 5711. It has to be seen in person in different lights, as the dial hues change subtly and beautifully. White 5711 + 5712A is 'THE' best Nautilus duo ever.

Hmmm... there's a color joke there somewhere that's incredibly un-PC.

Imho get what you love as trying to fully 'understand' the market today is utterly futile. We're in fanboy and bubble territory, so few things may make any sense to the casual observer or die-hard WIS. PP fans are scurrying to buy a 'limited edition' timepiece with outdated movement(!) and outdated year on the back.

Barnum would make a killing in today's market sentiment.

The white dial from OP is very cheap fake.

Most replicas these days do a lot better than this one.

I am surprised you could not figure out it was a fake as you obtained the photos from a replica forum.
